Let's Talk over Coffee....

Name:
Location: Northwest Georgia, United States

I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

Low Fat Biscuit Mix from Scratch

Last night I made a batch of Low Fat Biscuit mix that can be used like Bisquick. I know it isn't difficult, but I had never done it before and I was really excited. :o) I found the recipe here http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/getrecipe.zsp?id=55564 . I get excited about cooking. I like to make things from scratch, or at least know that I can. I recently found a recipe on www.topsecretrecipes.com for Stove Top Stuffing. I know that Stove Top Stuffing is not expensive, but it's just neat to know that I can make it myself - even if the cost is the same. Top Secret Recipes is a great website, you can find a lot of recipes for your favorite restaurant dishes or store bought convenience foods.

    Teacher Conference

Today I had my first parent teacher meeting. Byron & I had to go talk to Heather's math teacher today. She is really having a hard time in Algebra 2. She says that she is just stupid in math and I tried to tell her that if she was stupid in math she woukld not be in Algebra 2. Heather has a great teacher, she has been very good about communicating with us through email and makes herself available before & after school for the students. I really appreciate Heather having a teacher like that. I feel like we got some things resolved and hope that we can help her finish this semester out with a grade that will make Heather feel like she can do this stuff with a little extra work.
