I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

    Doctor Visit

Today I took Heather to the doctor on the referral of our chiropractor. I took her to the chiropractor because she was complaining of her back aching. He took x-rays and saw something that he thought was abnormal so he suggested we take her to our family doctor for a second opinion to be sure.

First I have to say that I am so thankful that I found Dr. Ford. I have a bulging and a herniated disk, many people have had surgery for this, but through treatments and exercises I am pain free 99% of the time. The fact that he noticed this abnormality, may help in Heather's quality of life.

Well, the doctor said that she thinks Dr. Ford may be right and wants her to have a MRI done to be sure. What she may have is Ankylosing Spondylitis. From the little bit I have searched this on the net, it is very painful. It causes your bones to fuse together, and can have other complications. Please pray that this would not be the diagnosis. It does not seem to bother Heather, but I do not think she realizes what it could mean for her.

Whatever happens we know that God has great plans for us.

    Is it just me?

BOY, 4, DRIVES MOM'S CAR TO VIDEO STORE AND BACK.
    http://www.freep.com/news/statewire/sw111307_20050207.htm

I heard about this on the news this morning. They also said that this was not the first time the boy had gone off in the car alone (this is not mentioned in this article). It made me think of last week's episode of Super Nanny, she had a young child that would wander outside on his own. I may be wrong, but it didn't even seem to worry her. During the show he wandered outside twice without her knowing it. When she went to look for him, she didn't even seem upset about it. Maybe I am being judgemental, but why would you not worry about a pre-school aged child wandering outside without your knowledge? The Nanny had her put a chain lock on the door so the that children could not get out without her knowing it. There are sick people preying on our children, don't make it any easier for them. Dispite the fact that they could get themselves in a world of trouble on their own. Even though the 4 year old in the above article was not going very fast, he could have been hit by a car that was going fast. I hope that this scared the mother enough to do something to prevent this from happening again. I do also know that the mother had no way of knowing that he was awake, but why was he able to get the car keys and get out the door on his own?
