Let's Talk over Coffee....

Name:
Location: Northwest Georgia, United States

I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

I don't know what my problem is..........

Today every time I think about the hurricane victims I start crying. Things like this bother me, but not usually this much. Last night we were watching some news show in the 6 o'clock hour and they were talking about it of course. They showed this lady that had 2 little babies in a stroller and some older children tagging along behind her. She was across the water from the dome and she just seemed so desperate. I have that picture of her in my head and keep thinking how many are there out there like her or in worse shape than even she? They had a special on last night and I had to ask my hubby to change channels. It's not that I want to escape the reality of it, but my heart is so heavy as it is that I can't bear to see any more images. I understand that they want to convey how terrible it is right now, but it's just too much.

    Hurricane Katrina

My mom called this morning from Indiana to see if we were still here. Thank you Lord that we suffered no damage. There are some trees down around town and power out in places (probably restored by now), but nothing too major for us here in Northwest Georgia. Our prayers are going out to those who were hit harder. We had power out for a few hours in the wee hours this morning, I heard that some further south will not have power for a month! I moved here from Indiana, this is as far south as I think I want to move. :o)
