I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

Meet The New Additions to Our Family

Meet our new babies! I know I was supposed to do this last week, sorry.

We brought Noel home first, on Saturday, November 18th. She had several siblings that stayed behind. :o( Heather picked her out, I wanted one of her siblings that was medium brown with eyes and nose to match her coat. He/she was so pretty. I let Heather pick and was really glad that I did when the guy told us there was a woman traveling a long distance for the one I wanted. Noel did so well on the long drive home. She explored the backseat a bit and then slept most of the way home. We let her stay inside the first night.........for goodness sake! We kept her in the bathroom, but then Heather took Noel in her room in the carrier. Byron ended up taking her into the bathroom because she was crying so much (Heather slept through it).

Then there's Holly. Byron fell in love with Holly. She was sticking her nose through the fence at us and seemed very friendly. We were not able to take her home that day. They hold the dogs for 3 days to give the owner time to claim them, Holly's 3 days were not up until the next day. So Sunday we traveled back to Rome to adopt Holly. Holly's transition was not quite as smooth. When the guy went to get her out of her cage, she wasn't too excited about coming out, and cowered in the back of the cage. The guy had to get up in the cage and put the leash on her. He said she snapped at him, but we think she was just jerking her head around because she didn't want to wear the leash. Once she was out of the cage, she still didn't want to walk so I ended up carrying her to the car. When I go her to the car, I noticed that she had gotten so nervous that she had an accident (I thought she had sat in a puddle ewwww.). We had the seat protected so we got her up in the car and she seemed not too excited. She did ok on the way home, but staired me down most of the way. I have to say it made me a little nervous, but I still kept thinking once we got her home she would be ok. Well, she threw up when we got close to home. Luckily that was all she did in the car. :o) We just about had to lift her out of the car because she again wasn't too willing. She jerked to try to run off, then slowly followed us back to her new home and awaiting little sister. On the way she made a bathroom stop which was like water, bless her little heart, that made me a little nervous. It seems that was her problem, nervous because she is fine now. As soon as we got her in the fence and took the leash off, she started jumping around like a puppy. She was a completely different dog than we had seen at the pound or in the car. She wasn't too sure of Noel right off, but started to play with her pretty quickly. Since then, Noel is a whiney baby if she doesn't have 100% of your attention. Holly is very hyper at first when you come out to see her, but Heather is working on teaching her to sit & stay. They are both really sweet, I think we've been blessed with a couple of ornery but loving puppies. :o)
