Let's Talk over Coffee....

Name:
Location: Northwest Georgia, United States

I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

    Halloween

Well, I might as well say it................I don't like Halloween. I know that this may not go over very well with a lot of people, but that is my conviction. I have struggled with this for many years. Yes, the little kids are really cute all dressed up, except for the ones that have masks with fake blood running down it or anything like that. I am not saying this to start an argument. I do not look down on people who do not share my conviction, and hope that if you do not agree you will not look down on me. I believe that the whole beginning of the holiday is pagan in origin and has an overall evil feel. I do believe that a lot of pagan worshippers do things on this day that we would like to believe don't happen. Satan is very real and powerful. I am just thankful my God is more powerful. Again I don't say this to ruffle anyones feathers, I just felt led to share what I think.

    Sick :o(

I haven't posted because I've been sick. I'm feeling better, but very unmotivated to do the many things that I need to do. The worst part is that I think I gave it to my hubby and he has to work this weekend. He just started this job so it is very important that he is not out. He was at his last job for 25 years when the plant closed, so he is having to adjust to a lot. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a job for that long and then be thrust into job hunting and starting over at a job that is unfamiliar. I have a great husband, he is taking it in stride.

    I LOVE FALL!

The trees are looking so pretty here, but GOOD GRIEF it is supposed to reach 80 degrees today. We have had some cool crisp temperatures already, but now it is getting warmer again.

I love fall because of the beautiful colors, but I like the cool temperatures too. Don't get me wrong, I am not asking for cold, just cool & crisp. My mom said that they have already had a light frost up there. I am amazed at how different the weather here is at times and yet how close it is sometimes. A lot of days we stay within 5 degrees of Indiana, be it colder or hotter. When it comes to snow, there is a big difference though. I can remember driving to work in deep snow that is blowing all over the road, peopleare out & about if the snow plows can get through and keep the roads cleared. Here if there is a threat of snow the night before the schools close for the next day and many businesses too, we just don't have the equipment to deal with much snow. It is so different.

    Yesterday....

I am trying to post every day, but things don't always work out like planned. Ms. Rachel talked me into doing this and I thought it would be fun, that was after reading her blog. She is really whitty and a whole lot better than I am at expressing herself. Maybe this will help me though. :O)

Yesterday was a really busy day at work again! I can't wait until all of this election stuff is over. Busy days do go faster, so I can't complain too much. I am just thankful I am not a reporter, they have much later hours during this time of year.

Yesterday by the time I cooked supper and got my step-daughter's hair colored I did not have time to post anything. Well, mostly because I felt bad getting on the internet since she was grounded from it. Her hair color turned out pretty good though, not quite as dark as she wanted it, but at least it was not a weird color or anything. :o) She had highlights and is now wanting to cover them up. We will just have to try again later.

    Apples, Apples & More Apples!

Yesterday I was busy most of the day putting up apples. We went to Ellijay last weekend and bought a bushel of apples. Yesterday I peeled and sliced, some went in the freezer and the rest went into apple sauce. I had been craving homemade applesauce lately. I was remembering the homemade chunky applesauce my mom made when I was young, this is what fed my craving. I think my husband liked it but not as much as I did. I will probably make some more to can. The apples I used were Arkansas Black, a variety that is new to me. They are a very hard, tart/sweet apple.

I was not able to post anything yesterday because my step-daughter was on our computer when I could have been on. She was grounded from the computer the day before, so she was making up for lost time. :o)

I talked to my mom today, I am so homesick! My family lives in Indiana. Her 50th Birthday is November 5th and she is trying to talk my step-father into bringing her down for her birthday present. If they don't get to come, I think we are going to go up there for the weekend.
