Let's Talk over Coffee....

Location: Northwest Georgia, United States

I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

    We finally got cell phones!

Today we finally joined the majority and got cell phones. We probably would not have done it, but my 14 year old step-daughter is flying tomorrow and we want to be able to be in touch with her. I can't help being excited even though it means that we are really going to have to tighten our belts. We only got 2 phones for now. When my step-daughter starts driving we are going to get another one for her. The problem is that she thinks she is going to carry the phone when she gets back as well. Nope. We have told her that she is not, but I think it will still be a shock to her because she thinks she can plead her case to get it. Her lifestyle does not warrant a cell phone at this point. When she gets a license then we want her to have one for emergencies.

    We Had Our Christmas Today

Today we had our Christmas celebration. My step-daughter is leaving tomorrow for Oregon to spend Christmas break with her mom. She will not be back until January 5th so we chose to have our Christmas before she left rather than when she gets back. Money is tight right now so there were not a ton of gifts, but she liked her gifts. She got me some lotion from Bath & Body Works, and my husband got me some new gloves. My husband is getting me something else but is having trouble finding what her wanted to get. We watched the live action version of Grinch while we opened gifts and then we watched Elf. 2 good movies. It was a good morning. n=n=n=n=n=n=n=n=n=

    Christmas Party

    g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g<g
Today we had our Christmas party at work which consisted of going to Logan's Steak House and exchanging gifts. I got a 4 cup coffe maker. Recently the only other coffee drinker (except for the occasional drinker) in the office moved on to a better job. I was teasing
(**Kinda kidding, kinda serious**)saying that I now needed a smaller coffee pot because I can't drink a whole pot of coffee by myself. Well come to find out he had my name which he then exchanged with the person that had his name and he got me a little coffee pot. I was so excited!!
We really had a good time this afternoon. We laughed and ate & laughed and ate. Good times. :o)

    Old Friend

I got a Christmas card the other day from an old friend from Bible College. I have not talked to her in probably 8 or 9 years. She lives in California and I had tried to contact her through the last address I had for her but with no success. I hate loosing touch with friends. She sent me some pictures and it really made me miss her more. Of course this made me dig out my old pictures and I got to reminising about the "old" days. I really miss those days. Don't get me wrong, I love my family & all, I just miss the carefree days of going to the coffee shop and just hanging out anywhere with friends. I just don't do that anymore. Than again I don't really have a lot of friends here that I can do that with. The one person I could hang out with doesn't like coffee! Hopefully she is going to come for a visit, her brother only lives 2 hours South of here so she said she would stop on her way through. I'm not sure when that will be, but I hope fairly soon.
