I am 36 years old. Happily married in 2000 to a wonderful man who I met on the internet. :o) I have a step-daughter who is soon to be married. I moved from Indiana to Georgia in 2000, talk about your culture shock! I'm by no means perfect, but I am striving to be the woman God would have me to be. Proverbs 31 is my goal, but I am still a work in progress.

Sad Yet Thankful the Weekend is Over

Saturday we opened gifts because Heather was to head to Oregon on Sunday to spend Christmas with her mom. Heather had gone to a Christmas party at a friend's and arrived home around noon Saturday and we opened gifts then. I received 2 CD's Charlie Brown Christmas and Joni Erickson Tada Christmas (AMAZING CD!!!) and a wood cutting board which I needed VERY bad (from Heather). Today My Gooseberry Patch Cookbook and Planner (got a deal where the planner was free-it's wonderful!!!)came in the mail. Byron ordered me a couple other things that came today, but I am waiting for him to get home from work to open them.

Sunday we went to church in Manchester. The sermon was excellent. He was speaking of putting on the whole armor of God. It's not like I don't know it but I need to be reminded that we are battling a spiritual war. Too many times I leave myself vulnerable by not putting on the whole armor so to speak. He also talked about some of the things we face day to day in that battle, I felt like he was talking straight to me. It's not that I'm a spiritual giant or anything, but if you are making any effort to follow Christ, satan will will try to discourage you, sometimes in the strangest ways.

Heather's pawpaw (her mom's dad) attends church in Manchester, the plan was for him to take her to the airport after church and lunch. Everything went as planned. Heather called us from the airport in Nashville, telling us she arrived at her gate on time. She then proceeded to Colorado, she called us to tell us she had arrived to her gate there. Then she proceeded to San Francisco. That's where there was a glitch. She arrived there about 12:30 am (3:30 am our time) and they said that they would not be able to proceed to Medford. They told her instead she would be flying into another airport 2 hours away from Medford at 7am! So, this leaves our 17 year old in San Francisco at a little after midnight all alone until 7am! Needless to say we didn't get to much sleep last night. I called her about 9:50 this morning and she was getting ready to get on the flight. I was so relieved because the on-line schedule said they planned to fly into Medford at 11 something tonight! God is so good, she is now with her mom. Please pray that the weather will be good for her flight home. In 2004 when she went to Oregon for Christmas we had some weather problems on her way home, we are praying ofr beautiful weather for the first part of January.

We had our Christmas Party at work. I'll have to tell you about it a little later though, it's time for my sweetie to get home. Have a blessed evening.
